So landed in Ghana on a job, was expecting it to be another crappy hell hole like Nigeria but have been pleasantly supprised, seen loads of old 90's sports bikes and some interesting older stuff.

All in all the place aint bad.

Been a few times and quite like the place. Folk are friendly and do not seem to have any hang-ups about Brits/ being an ex-Colony etc. Generally quite a pro-Brit place.

A few scams around but less than in most other African countries. Only drawbacks I found was they have too many churches (with incredible names) and they sing a lot of hymns eg while working, in the street etc. Always some nice ladies around as well, enough that you can be picky.

Safer than many places in Africa to go out touring.

That said I quite liked Nigeria (South) back in '09 - but did not do much walk-about unaccompanied.

S.
