As the story goes a friend of mine has the majority of bits from a GS550 floating about his garage that he's amassed and some that had been saved from his old GS (~1980) that he binned his when he was young and stupid but kept the salvageable parts. A few weeks back he phoned to say that he was going to scrap the stuff if he couldn't shift it or I could have it if I sorted a frame and bought the rest of the bits that would be needed. Needless to say I was all over it like a rash.
Since then I have bought a frame off eBay which gave me a scare as the plate and frame number didn't match up but a quick phone call to the plod has assured me it's straight and more than likely a DVLA cock up somewhere or the bloke had purposely put the letters in the wrong order on the number plate (the frame wasn't supplied with V5).
It's going to be a slow project as I'm in the final year of my degree so finding time is like trying to find rocking horse shit. The pictures aren't the best as they're taken with my phone.
The frame s going to need a fair bit of work and for some reason there's a singular Honda footpeg attached to it.
So here is the frame as it turned up before I started to Nitromors it.

The Nitromors doing it's work.

How the frame currently stands.

The paint is really flat at the moment. I washed it down to to get any remaining Nitromors off it before putting it back in the garage which is why it looks like (in my opinion) that the Nitromors hasn't touched it in some places.
As far as painting the frame goes I'm thinking of using Hammerite as I don't really want to spend anymore money than I have to on it because it's mainly going to be used as a commuter. Hopefully I'll have something more substantial to show the next time I post.
