Hi everyone,

I've made up my mind what to do with my B1H, I wanted to improve the handling very much by putting a back end from a 2005 zx636 onto my B1H. I know you're probably thinking (just buy a C1H) thing is I love the looks on the B1H but only love the handling on the C1H. I'm also planning to respray the frame and change both front and back wheels with the bigger C1H discs.

Anyway...

So far I have these 3 bits which I won on Egay for a steal price of £72!

https://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg191/scaled.php?server=191&filename=30012012137.jpg&res=medium

https://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg59/scaled.php?server=59&filename=30012012139.jpg&res=medium

I still need a few little bits and bobs but the main thing I'm after now is the rear wheel.

Now my question is, what kawasaki wheels out there that are exactly the same as the C1H? I keep looking at the R9F, P7F and z750 wheels, although they look the same, they may not fit.

Does anyone know?

Also if anyone has any C1H parts for sale, please contact me.

I'm still in need of the rear brake hose bracket, rear caliper bracket and rear axle.

Hi,

Finally found a back wheel at a steal price, comes with rear disc and sprocket hub Very Happy (not arrived yet though)

will post a pic when it does.

I've decided to go with spraying the frame, sub-frame and re-do the swing-arm. Colour of choice is Kawasaki's own Flat Metallic Stoic Black.

I'm also planning on sticking alot of real carbon fibre on and maybe a few trick bits.

Got few ideas on exhaust (delkevic on the bike atm) don't like it.

I'm thinking this:

Just peeping out from the bottom fairing. Or...

The C1H/C6F swing arm looks a lot nicer than the B swing arms. And the shock is a little more 'compliant'. However I don't think it's going to improve the handling more than a suspension refresh and proper set up. But each to their own.

What are you doing about the rear brake assembly? I'm sure the calliper is the same, however the mounting plate may be different. The brake line hose may be longer too.

More pictures!

Hi,

I totally agree, the C1H swingarm does look allot nicer. The C1H shock however has to be better over std as the B1H shock was originally set up by Kawasaki for track use only. So way too hard for a 140lb guy. Which either way I think the C1H shock will be allot more comfortable. I was thinking of buying a shock from a 2010 zx6r but not knowing how they handle I didn't want to chance it.

You are right indeed about the rear caliper bracket and brake line being different, I got a caliper bracket on order but I still need the line and a rear axle Sad

I found a picture of what i'm going for and chucked it in PS and changed the colour of the frame and bike.

I will get more pictures up once I got all the bits.

So you plan on improving the handling of you bike by randomly bolting on later model bits? Have you looked at the geometry of it at all? Manufacturers spend millions on R&D to get the handling of these bikes right. I wouldn't be so hopeful that just bolting on a later models suspension will give you great handling.

Hi,

I know what your saying, but anyone would tell you that the rear shock on these bikes are stupidly hard, I've got the pre-load on softest setting and still too hard.

Now I only weigh 140lb which would be fine for J1 or a C1 or even a P7 but instead of selling my bike to buy 1 of these bikes, it would be cheaper and more unique and fun to make the suspension work myself. Even if I do have to get it set up.

The whole shock in general is just too hard. I also decided to do the swingarm swap as it does look allot neater than the std box swingarm.

Is it not possible to get the shock refreshed and set up to suit your weight and riding style? Seems like a lot of fart arsing about when there is a possibility of you spending loads of money for little/no gain.

Shock too hard so switch the swingarm and shock from another bike, how did you know the swingarm lengths aren't drastically different or that the shock is the same length?

Logic say would get the existing one re valved/sprung, not buy random bits and hope for the best.

Shock is defo the same length.

Kawasaki's seem quite universal in that area. Very much like 90's Yamaha's were.

I put a C1 shock in my J1 with no issues, was a good upgrade.

just buy an ohlins shock and buy the correct spring for your weight. That would cost about £300 new, and it would handle a fuck load better than a later model stock shock anyway.

Managed to source a back wheel from a C1H.

It arrived the other day complete with disc and sprocket carrier, only problem is, I've found 2 flat spots in the rim lip on the sprocket side. Funny really because the seller said in the description it was straight and has no buckles dents or scratches.

For the low price I got it for, I might aswell get it straightened myself.

Does anyone know anywhere I can get this done? (Hertfordshire ideally) if not I'll just have to try my best to straighten it myself with a little heat, a hammer and a run out gauge.

If you got it through paypal/ebay complain and get your money back chances are you will win and keep the item. It will teach the seller a lesson to not misslead buyers.

Hagon in Hainault straighten cast wheels, I reckon that is probably the closest place.

Do this, paypal will tell you to destroy it and send them pictures, am sure you can find some pics of a butchered rim and photoshop it lol.
