For those who remember the Manx Hornet.

https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=134720&start=100

https://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll9/manxhornet/Hornet001.jpg

It was sold recently and I needed something new to play with.

So I've opted for a TDM 850 '93 Model.

https://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll9/manxhornet/MadManx.jpg

Anyone know what rear shockers are interchangeable if any?

Any info on these bikes would be really handy.

I've taken the ugly bikini off.

Engine seems sound.
Local overhaul just completed.

I hear the R6 blue spot brakes fit?

I'd love to know what other Yam models are compatible with it for spares or upgrades.

I'm spraying it in white with black frame (Not really a Mad Manx colour.)

These are all new to me so learning curve ahead.

I'd like to single seat it,get a neater set of clocks, bellypan and indis need to go.

Smile

More pictures please! Looks like a nice bike. Probably going to get a TDM or TRX when my restriction is up...in what feels like a million years.

I found the brakes hard to bleed but I found bleeding it from the master cylinder did it quickly.

The stock rear shockers are pure shit and make me seasick.
I got the r6 shocker but the housing for the gas was fouling with the mounts.
The Triumph TT fits if shimmed out and is an absolute pleasure to ride (especially as I live on the Southern 100 course now) on the TT course(Isle of Man).

The brakes are a straight swap.
I overhauled them in about an hour and sprayed them gunmetal grey using hi temp paint.

https://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll9/manxhornet/Ipod.jpg

The side panels are off a CRF.
The clocks were changed to single speedo but couldn't calibrate it properly. I use the speed warning light on the course I live on Cool
Over 80 it goes mental lol.
Remember there's no speed limit on parts of the Island. Very Happy

It's been a nice bike to work on and I think I'm gonna keep this 1 as it really feels spot on for our twisty roads.
