hi

i need some mechanical guru to help me. Just took out my intake restrictor following the nsr125.com guide bu as my bike is a 125 nsr 2002 model it was slightly different anyway, took out what I think is the restrictor but it looked like a wedge shaped insert with plastic flaps on the back?? now when I rev any higher than tick over it stalls??? has any one took out the restrictor on a 2002 or later model? if so what did it look like?

please help as i'm gutted that i may have wrecked my poor baby nsr!!

cheers

I found that in my NSR aswell. I belive it's actually the reed block. I was advised to quickly put it back in. Smile

Looks like you've not got a intake restrictor then. There wasn't one in mines either.

Yes, I would advise putting it back as it could have a very detrimental effect on the running of your lil smoker Very Happy
The restrictor is "Just" a plastic/metal bit with a hole in it.
The 2002's probably just restricted in the CDi

My bike has the identical problem to that. No restrictors and goes to exactly 85Mph. About 11 seconds 0-60. CDI would be the only place I could think it would be restricted but my bike is also a UK bike. Confused I've never found the answer yet.

I'm sure it's in the CDi mainly on UK models.
I think you can get one for an older NSR to fix it.

That was the stuffer you removed, removing the reeds would mean it would run at all.

It could be the cdi or restrictors inside the pipe.

Search around on the euopean sites as the european bikes are restricted in different ways.
