just because you had new bearings and suspension fitted doesnt mean they were fitted correctly.

All garages and mechanics will have different opinions on what is or isnt good work.

It just sounds like a bad experience. Every garage will struggle to satisfy every single customer that walks through their doors.

Im sure a calm chat between you and the garage should sort this

Got to be very careful what you post. Just being on a forum doesn't absolve you of libel. Make sure you can back up your accusations.

A football site got shut down and members traced and prosecuted for libelous postings.

Has no one else noticed the scraper in a Google account that allows you to set it up to email you as soon as your name or company is listed in in a search result?

Seems like a pretty sensible precaution to me for any business.

What I want to know is what the OP's first reaction was when the first response was from the garage owner.... oh to have a webcam shot of his face at that moment.

But let's try to move on, I was stung by a garage once, took my 440 for a service, got a phone call a couple of hours later saying they wanted £750 to service it, then a couple of hours after that it was £1200 I told them the car wasn't even worth that much and to put it all back together I would take it elsewhere. I got 100 yards out of the garage and the timing belt snapped, the engine oil content was dumped on the ground, and when I checked the receipt it said I had been charged over £30 for water and anti-freeze... they wouldn't release the keys until I signed a form and coughed up £270

And 'heard a few cases' doesn't substantiate proof of bad workmanship. Hearsay is worth diddly squat without evidence.

Just thought I'd quote the OP in full for posterity/in case he tries to delete the original:

Decided to post a thread for people to name and shame bike shops/ mechanics.

ill start off.

Dhr ( dave hammond racing) in dover.

failed my old sr125 on wheel bearings and suspension that where put in and did 5 miles to the shop, then tried to charge me £200 to sort my bike for the mot.

Aswell as fitting peoples tyres the wrong way, messing around with shit that dosen't need touching.

heard a few cases of people going in for rebuilds and coming back with more wrong with it

Take your bike there expect a big bill.

Not into the whole name and shame garages, but I had an Espace which had a nasty knock when going over bumps, decided to take it to a local garage and after several minutes of driving over a pot hole, 3 mechanics with the chin stroke tooth drier one of them came over and told me it was a fault in the gearbox.

After a slight amount of investigation it turned out the strut mount bolt was at least a 1cm from the top of the mount and causing the noise. Couple of minutes with a spanner, bit of locktite and the problem has never come back...

Worst thing about it was the problem wasn't there before I took it there for an MOT Confused

I wouldn't take my car there again, but I know people that wouldn't go anywhere else.

Note that you can appeal a failed MOT - while it is some hassle, it can get the MOT tester into trouble if it does prove to be wrong I believe - and certainly if VOSA start getting a few appeals upheld, sure they're not going to be happy.

Surepass Plymouth mechanic

Blackmail, shoddy worksmanship, abuse and non-admission of mistakes, theft of parts, accusing me of buying the wrong part (when the part I bought AFAIK is still fitted to the bike) the list goes on. There was a thread a few years ago. That and the owner is a cunt, and his playaway fat as fuck wife (that my friend has slept with, as well as her daughter LOLOLOL) are as bad as eachother.

they can't even fit a manual cam chain tensioner without fucking it up. I would LOVE it if they replied to this Sad
