Hi all,
So am thinking about getting another bike as a play thing as my other bike is the work horse, however how does the insurance work??

Can i get a policy for both bikes without it costing too much as i can only ride one at a time, or do you have to get two seperate policy's which will cost a fortune?

Carole Nash do a pretty good multibike policy. It cost the same for me to insure 3 bikes TPFT (2 650s and a 125) as it did to insure 1 650.

Carole Nash wont quote me...and when they did it was 517 on a GS500 Laughing

Might ask about their 6 wheel insurance and see how cheap I can get it!

Most of the big bike insurers and brokers do a multibike policy.

I'm with Carole Nash too, have all 3 bikes one policy.

A Quote are actually pretty good. I have two bikes currently insured with them and room for one more on this policy.

34 y/o - 4 x ncd - gsxr 750 and a streetfighter 1000 = £217 a year.

I'm with CN for my two bikes (1 policy) - it actually worked out a couple of quid cheaper to insure both than it did for just the CM.

Although it did jump up 25% this year, they were still the most competitive quote I could find taking into account excesses, extras etc.

I'm insured with Carole Nash (I despise the thieving lying scum at CN but they are all the same so what can you do?) , originally I insured an old enduro bike for £190 but I recently bought a year 2000 Yamaha Fazer 600 which I added to the policy for another £44.

It's a pretty good deal, the only downside is that they won't add ANY bike that is less than 10 years old. Bizarre when you think about it but that's the rule.

in the same boat and loving it NOT!

got a fazer 600, comp insurance last year £90, this year getting quotes of £70 to renew

add the cb250rs and hey presto, multibike policy £250!

in the past I used to add a bike like this and it would cost the amendment charge to add it on...................bloody insurance thieves!

So if i was to buy a new bike they would not add this so i'd have to take out another policy?? how's that work

If a bike is less than 10 years old you have to put it on a separate policy.

If you buy an itty bitty 5 year old 50cc scooter you can't have it on multi-bike, but buy a 10 year old Suzuki Hayabusa and no problem. Confused
