hey,

On my way home from work today basically i broke down.

When i was riding a long the engine just basically died an continues to do so after i started it up again or it would let me drive a few more hundred metres before dieing again. :-?

Its only been on the road since monday and i have noticed that from the 6000 revs i can use (runnin' in) its extremely sluggish and jerkey and sounds clogged to f&%k.

Has n e 1 ever encountered this or no n e possible solutions like setups? I have a micron exhaust aswell and am looking to buy a K &n in the next day or so.

All this means i have to trek to work on my ped' tomoro

Cheers

Ben

Hi

Sounds like fuel starvation. The 2 main causes of this are a blocked fuel filter (quite easy, especially if the bike has been stood for a while and the inside of the tank corroded a bit), the second is a blocked fuel tank breather hose. To check for this, allow the bike to stop again then quickly whip off the fuel cap and listen for a sucking noise as you do so.

All the best

Keith

I would check the plug see if it needs replacing. Then oil pump settting, have u changed oil make?. then fuel system, filters, breathers etc, then the carb internals and the check the airfilter and exhaust.

If it s got a micron system this total derestricts it but mine still had a silence restricter in the form of a long bit of pipe going into the expansion part that was held on in the middle by the expansion to silencer bolts (it will sound really tinny if it has one) just remove the silencer take the pipe out & refit silencer.

Hope its running shortly
