I hardly ever watch normal TV and just watch the odd shows online via their website. Ad Blocker for Firefox has always worked great for stopping the adverts online but now, Channel 4 pops a message up saying "Please disable your ad blocker software".

Any way around this? Can't find anything on Google about it.

Question

Just download them from a torrent site if you want to get around ads?
Or you could turn the adblocker off, of course Smile.

God damn you G, didn't even notice the typo Laughing

They don't deserve a download, they're not that good and equally don't deserve to watch adverts to watch them.

Maybe block the script that detects that you blocked the ads?

I had a look, seems:

https://www.channel4.com/static/global/js/controller/ads/ncShowAds.js

Is responsible and a few others but they're blocked already and it detects the ad blocker and asks you to disable it. It's not the end of the world but it's fucking annoying.

Seems as though a fix is available, not tested it myself.

Just had a look, channel 4 seem to have found a way to make playing the ads impossible to block for now or the video doesn't play if you do. Ah well.

I've been annoyed by this as well, the best I can manage without torrenting is to use 4oD's Youtube channel

No adverts there.

This. It's free TV whenever you can be arsed to watch it. Either put up with a few ads or spend the extra time to download it.

Captain obvious is obviously obvious!

Why should I though when there's a way around it? The adverts serve absolutely no purpose to me, I have never bought anything in my life based on an advert that came on TV, ever.

If I want to buy something, I will do it because I need or want to, not because there's some fancy advert on TV Cool
