I wonder if someone would be so good as to tell me if these are worn to the point where the clutch wouldn't work please.

If I was to replace the clutch plates, should it be everything including springs that are replaced or just the clutch plates?

Thanks

Andy

Some of those metal plates look as though they have overheated in one or two key areas of the plate. This may well have also distorted the plates.Place one over a sheet of glass and use a feeler gauge to see if any have distorted. This will affect the way that the clutch works.

Are the friction plates within serviceable limits? The only way to check them is by using either a vernier caliper or a micrometer. The max/min amounts will be in the manual.

What are the symptoms of the clutch not working?
Graunching noise when clutch engaged?
No drive when you let the clutch lever out?
The bike lurches forward when you engage gear from neutral?
Is the clutch hydraulic or cable operated?
If hydraulic, have you bled it recently?
If cable operated is it adjusted properly for free play?

The plates do look as though they should be replaced as a set.

Are the clutch springs within limits? These can only accurately be measured using a vernier.

I would replace the springs as a matter of routine if replacing the plates, especially if some of the metal plates are discoloured unevenly. This might indicate that one or two springs have worn beyond limits but not all.
