High Rev .. :( .. fixed .. :)

Changing my handlebars has resulted in another broken clucth bracket and when i start the bike, it just screams ... with clutch held in .. Rolling Eyes

I thought i seated the excelerator cable correctly .. what has happened .. besides fumblefucks ( me ) trying to change the bars ...

Incorrectly routed throttle cable? Do the revs stay the same if you turn the bars lock to lock?

Will try tomorow, it's like the throttle is on full revs ... i'm awaiting on a new clutch lever, think i might have to call on a pal to come and seat it, and check all is well, it will be something simplier than me ............ was going great guns, figured i had to drill two holes in the new handlebars for things to fit ...

Then the clucth bracket snapped and the throttle sticking .. i locked the bike up, had enough by that point ... Embarassed

Aye my friends ER5 had the same problem when he had his bars full lock right, sounds like you have a mega routing issue. Just try putting the cables somewhere else, somewhere they are not bent at too much of an angle, so that they just curve around.

I see, yeah the new bars are higher, so i need to make sure the routing is better ... Thumbs Up

Your cable may be to short even if you re route it. Make sure the bike does not rev on either lock, if it does rev you need to buy or make a new cable.

It was HIGH reving on no lock .. a few days without the bike, makes getting back on a lot of fun .. Laughing

My luck will make that so, anyway ,, i broke the lever madfor it sorted me out with, he's sending another temp one through, and unless he finds one i want .. i will be ordering off ebay for around 15 quid ...

The bars are around 2 inch taller .. i've undone a bit of the routing .. gona have a look moro ..

If i can't get it working then Evos gona pop round wednesday for a few squid and some beers, he can determine whats what, he's done a fair bit of fixing. as oppose to breaking ... Rolling Eyes

Well, the sun was shining and pete tong was a blasting, i thought give it another go, and i fixed it all, bar the need to order a new lever now of ebay ...

Works at either lock ...

Anyway .. Bars look good and are lighter ...the riding position is much improved, and the mirrors see all now ... Thumbs Up

Have also ordered some motrax grips .. caus mine are only 110 mm ... Thumbs Up
