I've had one, and its certainly worth the 30-whatever-quid for use as a temporary lock sort of thing, you know, if you go into town for half an hour, or want to pop to the supermarket. Just something to put immediate thieves off. I was using it as one of a series of deterrents.

But somehow the bike got knocked over and the barrel of the lock came away from the inside, it was a bit of a fucker to get the key in for a while and eventually, of course, it jammed up, and I had to get a mate to angle grind the thing off.

I'd have another.
But like I say, I'm in the Moar Security camp... because London.
Dunno what brand it was. It was bright yellow.

I thought you meant throttle lock like simple cruise control.
I have had several and they are great to use on a clear stretch just so you can give your right hand a break for a few second.

Simple and cheap £12.99 for this one but similar can found cheaper
the Honda Atlas one on Ebay for £137 is a piss take
You only need them on say long motorway runs to relax your hand for a while

This type rotate only forward. So if you go on motor way you'll need to rotate foward a bit, after motor way you rotate forward once and adjust again for nomal road.

I find the one piece plastic cruise control that you rest the bottom of your hand works on well enough. If you want cheaper just move your switchgear to the right until it binds slightly on the bar end, just remember it wont snap shut if you let go and it wont pass MOT like that.

Don't need to take your hand off the throttle to flex your fingers... If you do, you're holding on too tight in the first place.

Never had an issue with hands/wrists TBH, only time I've ever wished I had cruise control was on my Gixxer sitting for hours on the highway - would have been nice to stand up to get some blood back in my legs/feet.

It was handy whilst it lasted, but it's just plastic after all and I removed part of it because it just was intefering with throttle control. Obviously if you lube up the ring, then the thing won't work at all as it runs through friction (when applied).

Anyway. I just use cramp buster now, and whilst on long motorway runs, just adjust the cramp buster a bit.

This thread reminds me of the Triumph Rat forum.

Mostly Muricans on Trumpets.

Some of the shit they went on about was amusingly crazy.
My favourite of bike accoutrements was 'Mirror Extensions'. To enable Big Fat Bastirts to use rear view mirrors.


Another Murican forum but for BMW R1200GS bikes I perused briefly (looking for fuel pump and tank level sender) Some cnut had fabridoodled and fitted his own homemade reserve fuel tank from stainless steel plate.
It was a decent fab job too for an amateur.
It involved hacking a 2nd 4" dia hole in the side of the existing tank to connect his aux tank which was about 18" high by 12" square, bolted to the rear seat area and luggage rack.
Great job.
I just wondered who the fuck wants to sit on a boke for over 400 miles.
Unless he was one of those vlogger pricks who rides out through the wilderness.

He must have ran out of gas out there and perished in the dust though, as I never seen another post by him.

Sometimes a problem doesnt exist in reality and only in one's mind.
