I am new to riding and have only been riding for a few days on and off since CBT.

The problem I have is that I am scared to corner and I always feel as though I am running to wide on a corner and will hit the curb on a right hand bend, or run wide on a left.

I didn't have this problem on CBT but on my bike I seem to.
Is this natural until I am more experienced? I seem to take corners and roundabouts especially slowly.

Looking out of the corner where I want to go seems to help a little, as does deliberately thinking about leaning this bike and not being scared but I still feel nervous and tense up when I feel I am running wide.

Confidence will come with experience, always try to look through the corner rather than at the curb and try not to think about how far you are leaning. If you look at the curb or at an obstacle you will head towards it, its called target fixation I think, either way you don't want to do it.

Shaun has it spot on,its all about experience, some people have a natural ability, but us meer mortals have to work at it,well not really work because practice is fun!

It is called target fixation, look were you want to go,not were you want to avoid.

Safe riding,
stevie

You need to counter steer. I had the same problem. Just push the bars the opposite way to the corner and the bike will do the rest.
