I watched it when it was broadcast on the telly - thoroughly enjoyable, and a very interesting insight into a very different way of life.

I found the part about the (stuffed) dog which had been hit by a car both sad and heart-warming at the same time.

Thumbs Up

Is it just me or are young Gypsy males very aggressive? They never seem to mention 'outsiders' in these documentaries but growing up around them, there was countless times people were beaten up for no reason whatsoever.

Everything to them was a challenge to prove themselves. Nothing to do with a family name or resolving issues.

Even the girls are feisty. Laughing

I didn't see/hear a single one in that docu who didn't appear to be sub-normal. Nature or nuture, no idea.

What I mostly observed were uneducated, coarse, boorish people with little or no understanding of societal norms.

The parents came across as being devoid aspirationally of achieving anything other than raising their offspring to be as ill fitting, non-contributory and as unrewarding to human achievement and betterment as themselves.

That they live on the edge of society is not surprising, who the fuck would want to embrace them?

And they 'think' they have a culture worth preserving! I have never heard of any 'outsider' applying for application or marrying into their way of life.

Your post is quite a stereotypical view of western civilisation whilst sitting upon your moralistic "high horse", yet being wilfully ignorant of the sheer lunacy of our "way of life".

You condemn their way of life as uneducated and with little or no understanding of societal norms. What societal norms would they be? Wanton greed, excess, an "I want" society??
We live in a society which to an outsider is completely illogical! Yet we are meant to be the "educated" ones??

Look around at societal norms of the west. Consume things "we want" yet do need at an exponential rate whilst living on a planet with finite resources. Use a monetary system which is mathematical inevitable to fail. Living completely beyond our economic means gorging on debt/credit as if it was a fat lady with a huge chocolate cake.

Look at the many "aspirations" our society brainwashes our youth into:

Young mummy chav: Wanting to pop out sprogs as early and often as possible so a bunch of politicians can take off other people to give it to them.

Premier league football star: A world of obtuse excess where they think they are gods because they kick a bag of air around. Completely overpaid and devoid of human civilsation enrichment.

The WAG wannabe. Adding as much falseness to their bodies to match a a photoshopped bullshit of what beauty "really is". There great aspirations is to bag a footballer to bankroll excess.

etc etc etc.

Our societal norm is to put the "celebrity" on a huge pedestal and treat them as the creme de la creme of human achievement. What do they bring to the continuous improvement of the great human race??
Do we highlight the great minds of this world? Does our "educated" societal norm put academics on pedestals to identify good role models for our youth?? Like fuck does it!
Our youths role models are Wayne "I like grannies" Rooney and Katie "I must have publicity" Price.

Before you start spouting utter rubbish perhaps you want to take a good long hard look in the "Societal Norm" mirror!

Watch the other film Knuckle, is ok to lose a fight, even every fight, as long as you give it your best and don't fight dirty.

Yes - they are exiled to beyond the gates, where the wild dogs soon make short work of them. Gypsy blood must be cleansed of their weakness if the tribe is to survive!

Did anyone find that 'Hughie' looked like a Gypsy version of Tom Cruise? Laughing

Apparently, the following post about the above show was made by Johnny Coyle who can be seen 'offering' out any man on Youtube along with Paddy Doherty;

LoL i was joking, it was all about they must win and can never lose but the program did not show you the story of anyone who lost well apart from the guy who was cut to bits but that was not a "fair clean fight".

So you don’t like “wanton greed”, “excess”, and “an I want society”; you don’t like it that people take possession of products that they do not really need.
You resent the misuse of Planet Earth’s non-renewable resources and despair of the monetary system in world wide use.

That people live beyond their means (though not all do) or take ownership of debt\credit (again – not all people do) also offends you. You dislike young mummy chavs, premier league football stars, wag wannabe’s and their use of cosmetics; and the physical altering of their bodies by cosmetic surgery sure doesn’t agree with you either.

I should not leave out your resentment of all politicians who you suggest have a predilection to taking taxpayer’s money and using it to lavish excess upon the young mummy chavs.

That “the great minds of this world” and “academics” are not elevated to greater prominence or afforded greater media coverage as role models is another issue that leaves you miffed.

I have no problem with any of that, in fact I agree with you on some points.

What I do take exception to is your presumption that I have stereotypical views; I can think for myself mate.

According to you; that I don’t share the moral values displayed by most of the people who presented themselves in ‘Gypsy Blood’ places me on a moralistic high horse; if it does then that is where I will stay, I make no apologies for having, promoting or defending the values of high moral standards.

You also assert that I am “wilfully ignorant of the sheer lunacy of our "way of life",
wilfully ignorant”, fuck you; you don’t know anything about me, what a stupid assertion.

What the reasoning behind your argument is puzzles me, are you presenting your mummy chavs, footballers and wags as examples of society’s shite in order to make your Gypsy Bloods appear more acceptable?

Not really sure why you are bitchin either, are you of gypsy blood? Would that be the reason my comments got up your nose? If you are gypsy or of travelling folk or Roma then MTFU and say so.

And while I’m at it, I am going to assume that being on a biker forum you have or had a motorbike (whether or not it doesn’t really matter) and ever gone for a ride out just for the fun of it; ever bought anything you didn’t really need; never used hair gel, deodorant or aftershave to tart yourself up like those scummy chavs have you? And good old you never exasperated the precious and finite Earth resources you profess so much to see protected from selfish greed.

From your comments, I could accuse you of sitting on a moralistic high horse, but you’re sitting facing the tail.

Finally, if you think the comments I posted earlier are misguided, post a survey asking how many forum readers would have no problem having the Gypsy Bloods shown in the TV programme turn up to camp in their street, bet you are inundated with ‘Yes – With Open Arms’ votes.

Forums are such good places to make friends, especially with people who use computers that are made entirely from environmentally friendly naturally occurring organic and self sustaining materials, and having no harmful additives whatsoever.

I enjoyed the part where they took the dogs coursing (doubt they had permissions etc) to get a meal from the land; ingredients of this 'meal from the land' included..... gravy granules.

I say no more.

I also cant believe that the Top Gear India special got more complaints than Gypsy Blood which featured illegal coursing of deer using dogs, cock fighting and other illegal animal 'sports'

I wonder if it's because people do not know, themselves?

I was confronted last week whilst shooting pigeon that I was shooting illegally because the shooting season had finished. The fact this muppet had wandered over private land where I was shooting to preach 'facts' to me which were, in fact, complete crap.. was shocking.

Whilst I question alot of Gypsy morals, like how vile they actually are to the animals they claim to love... some of the values the instil into their kids and society are probably alot better than some of ours, as mentioned above.

I still hate the buggers when they come round nicking our equipment to go and weigh it in, or when they dump their horses in our fields, thus in the eyes of the law making us responsible for their welfare or when they break in, park up and get to stay for 10 days whilst police sort out paper work to get rid!!
