Hmmm... I quite like the look of that...
I got my G7 license quite some time ago but not used it for a while.
I used to be very active on the packet network (ran a node with local access on 2m and had a direct link to 2 mailbox/node clusters on 6m & 70cm) but t'internet killed it off :/

Still use my IC24 and VX-1R now and again for listening but tend not to chat a lot.

spent a year doing the course at night school, learned Morse code
with the intent of doing packet radio and maybe some slow scan TV or satellite bounce shit
but just as I passed the exam some smart bugger invented the net
so it became obsolete for me
got rid of my rig's one by one till I sold my last Cobra 148 modified for dual band
as I used it to keep in touch with some old CB friends, don't even have a scanner these days

Not personally no, but my mate Pyro and a few of his mates do, they have them rigged up so that they can use them whilst out on their bikes. Thumbs Up

You and me both (G7SZZ, if anyone's interested!) I did a little jump for joy when I found out it was now a full licence.

Still fancy learning morse, though. Anyone got any tips?

I know a few guys that run a pirate transmitter from the top of a tower block, is that the same?
