Firstly, Hello!
Been reading on this forum for the last couple of weeks, but never made an account as I didn't have a bike, so thought it would be best to wait until I get my bike.

Now, I have my CBT tomorrow, and its raining (oh joy) any advice for that?? I'm using their bike (because I imagine i'll spend more time on the floor than on the actual bike).

The bike in question, I have just been told, is a Yamaha MBK F1 Nitro in the jaguar paint scheme (green top, white bottom) And apparently its not in the best condition (she got it for £400, as opposed to the usual £1'000)

So, firstly, decent bike? Or am i going to look like a lime coloured Chav?
And any advice for the CBT in the wet?

Oh and by the way - thanks for the forum, it makes a interesting read!

Do as you're told and you'll be fine.

I did mine in torrential rain and it wasn't an issue.

hi and welcome

Get looking at Honda CG's, they aren't all that pretty but who gives a flying fork when you are using it to gain experience, better than paying £3k a year on a car worth about £800 Razz

a little list iv made is this;

- Honda CG
- Yamaha YBR
- Suzuki EN

each of them 3 gets awesome reviews, honda with the best Razz

Hey there Thumbs Up

As one of the other guys said, Just do as the instructor says and you'll be fine. It really is BASIC training, the off-road practical is just riding around the playground/carpark, going up and down 2 gears, riding around cones etc. Good fun. Smile Yeah, you'll probably stall a couple of times but what the hey, you're learning.

I done mine on a little Yamaha SR125, I actually quite enjoyed riding it, was pretty comfortable, but you shouldn't worry about the bike too much, it will be an absolute state Laughing

Have fun and ride safe Thumbs UpSmile

Are you 16? Bike in question is a 50cc ped.

You'll look a chav regardless Laughing But if its your frist ped and you are 16, its fine.

If you are 17, get some real wheels with gears and an "engine" as such. CG/YBR's are good bikes. CBF's look good...although being a nice model I was surprised to see a rear drum brake Neutral

Most 125s from the japs are perfect, stay away from the chinky bikes...korean (Hyosung) are pretty good from 2007 upwards.

Good luck with your CBT, just listen to what the examiner is saying & follow instructions.....Not much else to it. Wink
