It might hurt a bit, I can't wear earrings with a lid on as it squishes against my head.

No real way of telling - need to put a lid on and find out for sure.

mine are 12 mm and when i used hard plastic ones often one would ping out when removing the lid, lost quite a few so changed to rubber ones and they seem to stay in better, haven't lost a rubber one yet

Thumbs Up

I got 10mm's and havent had a problem in 3 years.

In fact I didn't start stretching until after I started biking so I had all the tapers and shit in while using my helmet. Didn't have a problem.

If you have a problem with solid plugs/tunnels, use silicon ones, cause they can crush inside the helmet.

I did this when i wore steel ones,

I would suggest if you can get your lid on and off with a taper in your lid must be a very loose fit.

Directed at me I assume?
I'm confident my lid fits fine.
When putting it on I used to pull the foam inners out over my ears as I pulled it down, and the taper would sit flat against the side of my head/neck inside it.

directed at you..? yes...but in a nice way.. a 10mm taper is quite a big lump of plastic Smile
i did a similar thing, but i had trouble when taking it off, always flicked a plug out Laughing but i do have a big head and equally big ears Mr. Green Thumbs Up

Haha sorry, I have a habit of making my posts sound cold and annoyed Razz
Yeah, i've only ever popped out a plug once, and that was when I didn't pull out the sides.
I guess it's technique and shape of ears Razz

Tunnels are awesome! drop a gear, rev the nuts off it and tell me you don't like tunnels.

Lol.

On a side note, headphones. What're people using as my standard iphone headphones give me earache very quickly when the helmets squishing them in that bit more! Heard good things about skullcandy & reasonably priced at £8 posted on ebay

And tunnels are most definately gay, took mine out a few years ago!

Lose the earphones, put some earplugs in instead Smile

I wear hearing aids and I can still wear a helmet alright. Putting it on however is a bugger as it sometimes knocks them out of my ear.

seeing as its below your ear and my hearing aid is 1cm wide pressing against ear and head, you'll be fine

I've never ridden in a tunnel before Sad

[yes I know its his ear]
