Hi All

I just picked up a '97 bandit 600 as a quick project.
I haven't had a very good look at it but last night I had 20 mins spare so I hooked up a battery and had a play.

The problem at the moment is I can't get it to turn over, I'm not expecting to start it as it has no exhaust amongst other things.
But I was hoping to atleast turn the engine over, but I can't get it to do anything.

The ignition comes on and the indicators work, pressing the alarm fob seems to make the alarm beep either once or twice (i'm guessing it's once for dissarmed and twice for armed???) but hitting the starter doesn't do anything Sad no solenoid clicks or any noises.

I suspected this was due the it being in gear, but I shifted through the gears for a while until I found neutral (sprocket spins freely) but the neutral light doesn't come on, and I don't think it's a false neutral.

So, never mind I thought, I'll hold the clutch in, side stand up and see, but still nada Sad

As I said, I only looked at it for 20mins and that is as far as I got.
The onyl thing I'm unsure about is the meta alarm currently fitted.
Would the alarm (if it is broken) stop the bike cranking, or would it allow it to crank but not spark?

Oh, and I only had it hooked up to a little ybr125 battery, is that likely to be an issue? I'd expect at least the solenoid might click if it doesn't have the amps to turn it over.

Any idea's?

Thanks!
Rich
