 |
|
Okay i'm bored so i will tell you how i learnt to do stoppies and wheelies ( taught myself)
Stoppies
Right, first off you will need good brakes, good tyres and good forks.
You will need to find somewhere to practice, do this in a empty retail park car park in the evening or whatever, make sure the road surface is smooth and clean, dust and grit and loose concrete is gonna cause a crash obviously.
To practice getting the back end up find a marker like from a car park space to stop by, ride towards it and apply the front brake gently, not so you slam it on and stop dead just apply it slowly so the forks compress fully and lean forward slightly, the bike should start to lift at the rear , when it starts to lift gently apply more brake to keep it up but not go to far other wise you will either go arse over tit or a tankslapper will happen like i did and then it will go over.
Once you have the balance right of keeping the wheel up high enough so you feel confident practice 'working' the brake lever, apply the brake gently, pull it harder and loosen off it to travel further, oh and if you feel it is going to go to far try and jump off before it goes to far and the bike lands on you!
Wheelies
I cant really say how to wheelie a geared bike as i haven't tried it as of yet.
With a 50cc ped is the only way i can tell you, but you can still learn the techniques on a ped its just you will have to use the clutch and gears on a proper bike to power yourself instead of just yanking back the throttle.
Your ped needs to have a fairly good 0 - 30 acceleration and a strong drivebelt and clutch.
Easier if you have a sports exhaust on it.
What i do is just cruise at about 5 - 10 mph till the revs drop really low and then lean forward push and yank on the bars at the same time and whack the throttle open and lean back, i cud get the wheel 3 ft up and ride it on the back wheel for about 10 metres
Good Luck and always wear your helmet!

Correct TiN, that is a CBR600RR with Laser pipes. Same bike that is doing the grass tracking near the end of the vid! ____________________ Ian.
