I don't get the whole new cars pay no road tax or zero emissions car what ever they are . What would happen if every single driver bought one ?

My tax runs out on 31/03, but i already bought the new disc so I saved myself a massive...........£2.00!!

the Govt wouldn't get fined under the protocol for exceeding their emissions targets and it would, therefore, be cost neutral.

20% VAT on new car sales would happily clean that problem up too.

Assume a £2000 per car average, that's about 10 years' road tax. Ample time to gradually increase the tax so the "game over" comments come out. Wink

Taxing both of my bikes for a year still works out cheaper than taxing the cage for six months.

Maybe they can use the few extra quid, literally few, on improving some of the roads, if not all of them. The council seem to be saving money by using the cracks in the roads as lane markings, the toads Evil or Very Mad
