im a 38' chest in a normal casual shirt, im also 5'7-5'8. am i right in thinking that a 38' leather suit would be to tight, from what i can find out about sizing online i need to order bigger. im looking at rst but trying a suit on instore is not possible so im going to order online and send back if necessary.
any general rules of thumb or anything, i saw one guide saying add at least 2 inches to your chest size? is this right,
thanks for any wize words which could save me sending stuff back

Personally i wouldnt go near one piece suits - ive worn them in the past, and you just end up really sweaty, and its hard to move in them! Personally I'd just get myself a decent two piece suit that you can zip together, at least then if you get cold you can zip them apart. Oh, and going to the pisshouse is a palava aswell!

In my experience the sizes can be all over the place. I tried on about 8 suits before I found one that fit me!

I commuted, hooned and toured in a 1 piece race suit for 4 years. On the bike it was very comfortable, off the bike it could be a bit of a pain I suppose but I would never say 'avoid them' as its your choice!

im currently sat in a brand new pair - which may be too small, buying a 1 piece when you have a good idea what you need from them is a nightmare.
My first pair when i didnt have a clue what i really needed were size 42 but now are pretty baggy due to shoving clothes under them in the colder weather hence ive been hunting for some new ones for a year!! ive returned 2 pairs via mail order - decided to buy some from a shop but later decided they were a bit on the big side so returned them ( all 42's). tried some 40's on and seemed a snugger fit so oredered this pair in size 40.
They fit snug - little bit tight across the chest which is causing bit of soreness under armpits - and the knees are extremely tight once on the bike, the stretch panels on the knee are at full stretch. May not be much room for a back protector as only got t shirt and shorts underneath.
WILL THEY STRETCH?????? its a lot of money to gamble on them giving enough - vice versa I change to the size 42 do they turn out to be a little on the loose side and then end up even looser over time??? Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Thinking

Ive really lost the will to live now and considering giving up the hunt. Crying or Very sad

Depends how much you want to spend, if lots get one custom made, if less go to a shop try some on, then go and sit on a bike and see what they are like Thumbs Up

Try sending the seller your measurements and let them know how you want the suit to fit. Each brand runs their size differently so its best to ask the seller. I recently bought a 2 pc Perrini Fusion. Communication with seller was on the slow side but suit was great.

I don't get sweaty in mine. Wear and undersuit. Keeps you nice and cool.

On the moving around thing, I find them less restrictive than a 2 piece. Remember they're designed to fit when on the bike, not when walking around the park or doing gymnastics.

You just turned 16 last week and are on a ped. Do you wear a one-piece to play SBK 11 on your PS3? Neutral

A 16 year old using the word 'palava'? Something isn't right here...

No, I reckon the Perrini suits are terrible. I met a guy that came off in one on a track day and he said it burst open at the seams like The Incredible Hulk's t-shirt. Definitely can't recommend them based on that, may as well wear shorts and a t-shirt.

They might look alright but if they don't protect you what's the point?

Not planning to get one any time imminently, but will be looking in the future for a 1-piece.

Problem is my legs are ridiculously short... My normal trouser size is a 32S, and I if i'm not wearing shoes then the bottom hems of the trousers will be under my heels.

Can you get 1-pieces in Short/Regular options that are designed for stumpy-legged-fuckers like myself, or would I need to be look at custom-fit ones?

Alternatively is there a motorcycle clothing adjusters that specialise in tweaking leathers to suit an individual?
