Basically what I need to know is can i put some wider tyres on my bike, especially the rear? I have a GS125 and the thickness (or in this case skinnyness!) doesn't inspire confidence, especially if cornering in the wet. Obviously a Gixer rear won't fit on or look right but an inch or two maybe? I think the rear s 3.5 inch wide but don't quote me on that.

You may be able to get a slightly wider one on there, but I really wouldn't bother. All it will do is screw the handling and cost more.

When I got my NSR it had oversize tyres on and when I changed them for standard sizes I felt a lot of difference. It turned in so much faster and felt a lot better leant over.

Could be less hassle to trade it in for a bike that has larger tyres by design, if a larger tyre will f**k with your handling, dont bother mate.
