Tax without V5???

So basically, bought my ZXR 400 the other day from a showroom
Has no mot or tax (for a few reasons)
Sorted them out (mostly) but it's ready for mot n tax
Mot booked in for tomoro
However, it came with prev mot certs but no v5, seller has sent 4 a new 1 in my name
Can it b taxed???[/quote]

Do you have the new keeper supplement?

You can tax it with that.

Bcos it didn't have a v5, no
A brand new one has been ordered in though. :S
Problem is I need my bike tomorrow, so I must get it sorted, is there a way??

Short answer: no.

Long answer: noooooooooooooooo.

All the seller will have done is send off a V62, which can take 4 weeks or more to get you a V5C (bet they didn't tell you that before they had your money, right?). I can't think of any way for you to get tax without the vehicle being registered in your name. You can't even get it online the moment that the DVLA change the registration over because (wait for it) you need a reference number from the V5C. Doh!

So short of tracking down the previous keeper and getting the V5C from them (seems very unlikely) you're stuffed. Sorry.
