Short answer: no.
Long answer: noooooooooooooooo.
All the seller will have done is send off a V62, which can take 4 weeks or more to get you a V5C (bet they didn't tell you that before they had your money, right?). I can't think of any way for you to get tax without the vehicle being registered in your name. You can't even get it online the moment that the DVLA change the registration over because (wait for it) you need a reference number from the V5C.
So short of tracking down the previous keeper and getting the V5C from them (seems very unlikely) you're stuffed. Sorry. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
