How many miles without using M-ways

So if you are going to be using A-roads for a trip rather than the M-ways, how many miles on average do you think you will cover per hour.

Would you think that 50 miles for each hour in the saddle is about right?
Or would you expect to do more than that, even though you are only using A-roads?

Depends on the number of towns I have to go through instead of past, but I'd go with 50 as a good guestimate.

Motorways work on a mile a minute, A+B roads a mile every 2 minutes. works for me.

Long journeys for me I work on a 45mph average, and easy for that to drop down even further (a 5 minute petrol stop will make a very noticeable difference)
