'Halo' GPZ500S ratter

Hi guys

Still a newbie - riding a Gilera Coguar 125 at the moment, but picked this up cheap last Christmas.

Basically it's a stellar mileage (well sort of - 60 something thousand miles on the clock) GPZ500, to which the previous owner has done most of the hard work (fibreglass rear fairing panel from a MV Agusta F4, custom spray job etc etc).

Unfortunately it does have a few gremlins - mainly mechanical and probably due to age but I will overcome these steadily.

Having re-wired much of the bike (after removing the bits of insulation tape and soldering / connector blocking properly) and setting the tappets up, painting the exhaust, removing the side fairings for a more 'naked' look, changing the bars for something a little more suitable (originals rubbed on the tank) and a few other odd and sod jobs, this is how it stands at the moment.

Drilled the cluster and fitted the idiot lights (L/R indicators, oil pressure, main beam) as LEDs, alongside a homebrew immobiliser with flashing lamp in the tacho. Am working on an alarm for the bike using a mobile phone (when the bits turn up!).

Cluster has been converted to LED illumination - stuck with white as blue looked too patchy.

As the bike was before Christmas. Unfortunately I lost my tail lights when a wire from the ignition barrel split, took the bike apart and fuel spilt over the tank... this means a respray...

The bike is still work in progress - just got it back together tonight and have a few bits to finish (clutch springs for example) but here's a few 'teaser' shots from the bowels of my garage...

Just the side lights on... headlamp bulbs are Osram Nightbreaker Plus bulbs...
