Simple request really. Could put the CSS rule "word-break: break-word;" in for user posts please?

I find it mainly happens when someone posts a long link, we get this huge horizontal scroll bar and have to constantly scroll left-right to read a post. I'm just not much of a fan of that.

I tried altering the CSS style sheet to accommodate for that by using the above rule and it worked nicely Thumbs Up Just thought that other users might appreciate it too.

Cheers Thumbs Up

Are you sure it's not caused by over-sized pictures?

Pics are usually auto-resized by the browser.
It is mainly URLs and long continuous strings of text that cause it.
A while ago I think I bullied Tatters asking him to sort his sig out.
It contained al the bikes he had owned i think, didnt have any spaces in it and would cause every page to be double the normal width.

Thumbs Up

Or a URL-reducer.
Definitely like an ebay URL-reducer, as with the current system you can have very short URLs easily, ie - itm/number .

How about this... should scale all huge words, links & images to your browser window, although images will only scale down and not up.

The quote gets a scrollbar, where the original is word-wrapped?

Also, an existing issue I think - none of it works in the 'Topic Review' when posting.

Doesn't seem to work for 'Preview'ing a post either.

The quotes are treated differently to save screen space.

The wrapping does work in post-preview mode (clear your cache?), and words differently in the topic-review iframe: the images aren't scaled, but you get a scrollbar instead.

Ah, guessing it was the non-scaled image which made the text look like it didn't wrap.

Much better.

Same things happens with avatars too, I uploaded a big picture thinking it'd be autoscaled jsut for it to warp the whole site when I post Thumbs Up Thumbs Down

Problem with avatars is that downscaling a big picture will still increase load times - though I would like to see an automatic checker so less have to be removed by the mods [/lazy].
