Unfortunately I think you are the only one on here with a Triumph Sprint. Your best bet would be to buy a 5L plastic petrol can from Halfords and bungee it to the pillion seat. Then ride (with the full can) until your reserve runs out.
I know this sounds really lame, but the '96 sprint is a pretty rare bike and I don't *think* you'll find anyone else on here that will know.
