Hi Guys,

Been noticing lately that my chain seems to be making a bit of noise when riding, i've been cleaning and lubing the chain but I think the sprockets may also need changing, the teeth look quite pointy which i've read is a bad sign and when the bike is on the stand and I turn the back wheel there's a bit of noise coming from the front sprocket.

I've seen that I can get a DID chain and sprocket kit for about £40 online, is this any good?

Also i'm in no way a mechanic by nature and the guides ive read online just seem to go over my head lol, so if I did get the kit would anyone mind giving me a hand and some training in bike maintenance hehe? for a fair price in beers or whatever is your tipple...

Sounds like a replacement is due by the description of the socket (photo of the 2 sprockets would help )- it's a piece of piss to change - did mine about 3 months ago.

Some excellent guides on You Tube I watched before hand, making the hole thing very simple.

DID chains are normally pretty good also.

If its a split link it makes it slightly easier but a chain breaker / riveter isn't hard to use.

What area of the country are you in?

I'm off to Iceland in a few days and wont be back until March 6th, if you haven't sorted it by then I'll come give you a hand. I've got a dremel and a DID chain tool.

Only since you didn't mention it, but you have been tightening the chain too?
