V5 spelling mistake

Hello all

I've just received the V5 for a bike that I want to tax. However, I've just noticed that the DVLA have spelt my name wrong.

I've got insurance in my real name. Will I be allowed to tax the bike at the post office with a slight spelling mistake on the V5

AFAIK you should be fine. after all, i taxed my mrs car for her. she is insured on it. my name is on the V5.

shouldn't matter as long as it is registered and insured surely?

I'd be astonished if the post office counter muppet either noticed or cared.

Worse case you can just scan, photoshop and print an insurance document with a matching name on it.

I had the same i sent my documents away and got them back with the wrong name on it. One phone call i had to highlight what was wrong and write correct and send back again. Takes a fecking age to get through to the welsh then be called pal ok pal we will short it out pal, not a problem pal pal pal pal.

As Stevie says, just amend it and send it back, they'll send you a new one with the correct spelling on. Happened to me, only took a couple of days. And as also has been said, do it all online, it matters not as long as you pay! It's done on the number, not the name.
