Sense (don't know about vanilla Android) already gives you the option of throwing playback onto any media renderer on the local network, it's a surprisingly useful little tool. You can also control youtube by pointing a web browser at www.youtube.com/leanback and linking to your Android phone, allowing you to search and select on the handset and play the videos - any youtube video - on the larger screen with full control. It sounds like this "clik" app is just using an automated linking system via the QR code and through their own servers.

Can't say I'm wildly impressed.

Agreed, that's pretty cool, especially when they manage to get content sharing from the phone to display on the screen.
