I'm thinking about doing my first track day in the summer. Most likely cadwell cus its close and cheep!
Do they specify that you have to ware leathers? I ride all year so I have a set of textile clothing; my stuff has amour and a half zip to connect the trousers to the jacket. Is this ok or will I have to invest in some leathers?

It has to be leather, and if its a two piece it must be connected by a full 360 degree zip rather than a half connector.

For some reason they haven't recognised man made materials yet even though there are some very good kevlar type race spec suits out there.

When I went they didn't check anything, I had a full piece on however you couldn't see this as I had my jacket on over it.

They didn't check any of the bikes either.

Check with the promoter. Some now allow certain manmade fabrics since the ACU changed it's wording from 'leather' to 'protective'.
The GTS kevlar suit can be used for instance.
I personally would not use anything but a leather and and a backprotector on a trackday.
Get a cheap set from eBay.
