Take a radio, although you no doubt have this covered with some new fangled "i" gizmo.

I liked the Cronk-y-voddy straight, because you're so close to the bikes at full chat. The grandstand is worth a go as well, many races won and lost there. Quarter bridge and Braddan bridge are good as well. Ramsey hairpin can be interesting, especially when multiple bikes arrive.

Don't forget to visit the faeries, many have regretted not doing so, avoid them at your peril.

You'll enjoy it where ever you go, I always did!

If you want to see them going flat out somewhere along the mountain road section is probably best, but for slower better views of the bikes somewhere like bellaugh bridge

if you are taking a radio then RadioTT is on 1368AM or MW all around island, in 2011 some areas did have FM coverage but i can't remember which. If you have a phone that can run Tunein radio then that can pick it up should be under manx radio.

I like watching from cronk-y-voddy straight as can sit on grass verge inches away from the racing line or in the field on the bend (free pratice week and £1 race days for parkng) also a toilet there and a food wagon. Up at bungalow is good, once you are up there locked in for the day as road is on inside of the course unless you get the tram up from laxey.

On your first visit the first place to watch has got to be just after the start near the bottom of Bray Hill. You're brain has difficulty computing what you are seeing, a real assault on the senses.
there are plenty of pubs to watch from if you get there early enough, Crosby hotel (flat out) Ginger Hall (bumpy left hander) Creg Ny Baa hotel (fast right hander on the drop from the mountain). Some of these charge a small fee now. Glen Helen is a popular place with good facilities.
Some of my favourites are -
Sulby bridge/ Ginger Hall, Dorans bend, Kirk Michael village and the jump just after it (forgot its name durr) Bungalow ( good view of a large section of the mountain, accesible by the railway)
The best place for me was the bottom of Barregarrow, got to get there early and you are trapped for the duration but spectacular.
There are plenty of places you can get to via acces roads inside and outside the track, get a map and have a look cos you see a few different places in the same day.
Get a lap in yourself, get up early on a hopefully nice day when the roads are quiet, go round then back for breakfast.
Plenty of things to see and do when you're there, too much to list here so check out the TT website ( can't do links at my age).
The only 2 places you don't want to visit are the courts, Police are great but if you speed in a built up area they will throw the book at you. The other is the inside of Nobles Hospital, tends to put a dampener on the week in my experience.
Have a great time, it's like a week long blast with your mates on a Sunday!

Got a few mates going this year, I unfortunately couldn't make it but next year it's on!

On the radio front with tunein radio and the like, wont that eat through your mobile data? At least on mine (iPhone4) it doesn't have an FM reciever, it just connects to an internet stream of that radio station.

All good info OGR. The jump on the way out of Kirk Michael is Rhencullen although I suspect that you might be thinking of the BIG jump on that side of the course which is Ballacrye, between Ballaugh Bridge and Quarry Bends.

OP. Get yourself over to iomtt.com and join the forum, there's plenty of info on everything to do with the TT. Have great TT and start saving for next year 'cos you will be back again!

The forecast is looking good for this Sunday so just might get a couple of laps in Very Happy

Forgot to mention that you will be roaming on isle of man so you would need to check your charges or just get a sim card from Manx Telecom or Sure Mobile. If you can find a free wifi hotspot then tunein radio can use that. I prefer my hand held AM/FM radio as internet radio can be slightly behind.
