Any recommendations on head/bike cams? Preferably not too expensive and maybe something i can plug a mic into

I think it'd be interesting to watch my rides back, although they're probably boring Laughing

I have a yamaha ybr and can probably fix it to the front if needs be, not like there's a screen to obscure, and probably better than bobbing around on my head

Question
Praying

Not sure if it's the same one, but a guy at one of the biker meets I go/went to had something similar to this round his neck which helped out when someone pulled out in front of him causing him to come off, driver lied until he was shown the video.

Not sure on quality or anything like that but have a look on amazon etc

Thanks guys Mr. Green Thumbs Up

I bought one of those DV spycams before from ebay actually...it broke after 2 days and wouldn't work via USB Rolling Eyes
Looks like a muvi chinese rip off actually Razz

GoPro looks awesome, are they all adapted for motorcycles or is there a specific model? (aka hero)
Actually hero2 looks exactly what i'm after, at a pretty decent price as far as good cameras go

Sweet! It eevn has a wifi addon to stream live, sick! Lots of possibilities with that bad boy Mr. Green

It's big, square and makes wobbly video. Far from perfect!
Ok for the price.

Didn't think the video was bad at all, even on 720p 60fps.
It was wobbly on the rear of the bike, down to shit snapped lug on a plastic part of fairing, but on helmet was solid as a rock!

I'll find some footage of it somewhere, the HD Hero was £150 from amazon a while back Thumbs Up

You need to ride faster, then Razz.

Looks lovely when there's not much action - the 'classic' issue is mountains/hills etc in the background turning to jelly as you pan past them while cornering.

Compare £10 to £150, how many of them could you buy? Heck, the memory card costs as much as the camera. Wink

I have one, it's still working (touch plastic), and the reason I use it is because it slots in neatly behind the chin bar, totally unobtrusive, no mucking around with fixings.

When (not if) it dies, I'll likely just keep buying more, and not a single moan of "Buy cheap, buy X times" will be listened to until X > 15. Folded arms

[UPDATE]
Have you got one of the models where the 'reset' hole appears to have been covered over? There is a reset switch still behind there, but the new hole requires something really narrow to fit in it, like a pin, or you can verrrry carefully put 2mm bit through where the old larger hole used to be - its outline can still be seen.

You can get a Kodak "Playsport" for under £100.

https://shop.kodak.co.uk/store/ekconseu/en_GB/pd/PLAYSPORT_Video_Camera__Zx3/productID.170164000

Cons:- No external mic input. It does have a standard tripod mounting thread but you'll have to make your own mount.

Pros:- Excellent picture quality, waterproof up to 3m, very easy to use.

Here's one I made earlier:-

Try this gem of a cam.

Replay XD Video Camera System

Replay XD Complete System 159.99 USD
Replay XD1080 Complete System 299.99 USD

Looks a real good piece of kit from the vids.

Another vid of the 2012 BMW S1000RR Australian Launch recorded at Phillip Island

The thing was hard to use as it was supposed to be a 'spy cam' so it jsut sort of had a couple of buttons and a light, that either was solid flickered fast or was off, or something.. It was shit, didn't use it enough to remember much about it Shocked
lol I think it did have a covered reset switch though actually... recall trying to make the fucking thing work....

It's utterly lost now since i moved house, and I only got to view a video on it once before it broke, and even then my PC hated recognizing the damn thing...
And the microSD card did infact cost more than it Neutral, but I actually use that in other things Thumbs Up

This guy's website is pretty good:

https://www.techmoan.com/

He reviews the cheap chinese cameras, think I'm going to order a HD 808 #16 today, think they're about £30 delivered on ebay.
