Any specialist offroad insurers than give you decent prices for offroad bikes? The KTM is up for renewal and I feel £180 is a bit steep considering how little I use it.

I am with Bennetts for my XR400 and KTM 450.I have just had the renewal notice through the post quoting me £120 tpft but I will be going on-line to check other quotes before deciding what to do before giving out any credit card details.

I found https://www.just-motorcycleinsurance.com/ cheapest for me £170 about £30 cheaper than Bennetts.

I shopped around recently at the end of January, spending hours n the phone with specialist offroad insurers and the cheapest still came back as ebike at £118 TPFT.

eBike have always been extortionate for me. I think I should get a better rate with them, I have 3 claims between 3 and 5 years ago.

With the other insurers they say claims in the last 5 years eBike say 3 years.

So with no claims, 6 points, 1 ncb, a garaged EXC520 doing less than 1000 miles a year. Ebike wanted nearly £500 TPO. Laughing

I already have one for my other 2 bikes. However the underwriter they are with does not believe such a bike as a KTM 520 EXC exists. Laughing

That reminds me, I need to swap from an ebike monthly policy to a proper one for my xr..... ComparetheMarket are kicking out quotes starting from £74 for my xr250, 1 years NCB, 1 declared accident and 2000 miles a year with Swinton (TPF&T)

Goes up to £95 for FC for me

Shocked

You must be really old Mr. Green

Christ, my TTR's garaged, 5 years NCB, full licence since 1996, no accidents or thefts and 3000 miles...

Same problem with my bike. Not too many insurers cover the old models of them, only the 1998's onwards..

The MoT certificate for my KTM shows it to be the SMR model not the EXC that it is.
What is it with insurers etc?
