hi, as you would have noticed if you have seen my other thread, my insurance has more than doubled and so its time for the t'cat to go. Only problem is a few weeks ago it was knocked over at work when a big big blew into it; causing damage, what makes it worse is that my bike is black but the damage has revealed the red fibreglass underneath
I have already got a second set of fairings that Im halfway through spraying, so, do i sell the bike as is with the damage then finish the second set of fairings in my own time and sell them on or finish the fairings and put them on the bike?
Another option could be to put some body filler over the damage and spray over, however, I don't know what black the previous owner used (been previously sprayed).
thanks, Grant

Why has your insurance doubled?

As for selling the bike its basicaly a matter of doing some maths....whats the bike worth as is and how much are the fairings worth on their own ??

How much would the bike be worth sold with the new fairings?

Once youy've worked that out you'll know which is the best deal. Plus someone will probably be willing to damaged fairings should you take them off.

Thumbs Up

My insurance company don't want to insure under 25's on sportsbike anymore and the broker's next cheapest option is £1k more for less cover.
Tried quotes from other companies but cheapest is £1k with like £600/700 excess.
As a matter of principles I am not paying the same/more than I did last year because I have gained my first years no claims.
I discovered my dad has an electric sander and its cutting time by an awful lot so might just get them sprayed up.
thanks, Grant
