My wee nephew has just picked up a little 100cc two stroke for having fun in the fields, but he replaced an engine casing losing all the oil.

Forgive me as I'm a total mong, never had a two stroke nor know nowt about them - what oil should be used here??

Just off the shelf 2t oil? Does it need any additives or nowt??

Hi

If it is to replace oil lost when removing the clutch casing then that is gearbox oil. Which on most 2 strokes is likely to be a normal 10W40 4 stroke oil.

2 stroke oil goes in a separate tank to be fed into the carb, or is mixed with the petrol.

What 100cc 2 squeak is it?

All the best

Keith

I've no idea what model it is, he phoned me five minutes ago and that was the first I'd heard of him getting one! Knowing him it'll be a Chinese special.

As Kieth said, that'd be gearbox oil. Usually 10w40.

Not likely, its more than likely something "decent" like GP/KH/RXS/H100, if it is, steal it, rebuild it. Cool

Side case = 10w40 stroke oil, shouldn't be alot though.

Check the 2 stroke tank... if you can't find it, premix it.
