Afternoon guys.

The bike was fine until I washed it the other day (coincidence, perhaps?)

It rides fine but when I put the bike in neutral after riding for a while, the revs stick at about 3k and i have to reach down and adjust the idle screw.

Thinking I've sorted it, i take it for another ride and it's doing it again...

what could be the problem? Water in the carbs/airbox?

Really getting on my t*ts now,

Thanks in advance guys,

Steve.

Choke cable sticky, air leak between air box and carbs/carbs and engine.

My GS500 used to do this, was carb rubbers Thumbs Up

Ok I'll check those too, cheers mate. The rubbers seemed fine when it was restricted, though. I'll take a look.

I'm still wondering whether it could be caused by water?

Maybe the air filter got wet, did you power wash the bike, or use a hose pipe?

Leave it for a few days, it might just be water has got in somewhere. It will dry out in time.

Rode it down the A15 this morning,

was better when I set off, and was perfectly fine and back to it's normal self when I arrived at work. I'm guessing it was water...

Thanks again guys!
