I was really happy with my SSD for nearly 4 days till it decided to crash on me. It was a Corsair Force 3.

So, I'm after a reasonably priced (can't afford more than £200) 120Gig SSD (SATA3). If you have one - are you happy with it?

Need a 120 as lots of games would be installed on it (I play pretty much everything, get bored of it in two days, come back to it in a month, etc.), plus OS, software and stuff. So 60 is not an option. Got a secondary (1Gig) regular disk for music, etc. and 1.5TB as external backup.

I have this one;

Crucial 64GB M4

But they also sell it in a larger capacity.

Crucial 128GB M4

So far so good.

It was recommended via a Tom hardware review of what's available. Do some searching and you'll probably find a more up to date run down of what's available these days.

we've been using some OCZ Vertex2 SSD drives at work for the last 6 months and they seem to be holding up well

I've seen the Vertex3 120Gb drives for ~£135 recently, not used them yet though.

edit: just to add, the vertex3 drives are 2.5inch (laptop size) format, if you're looking to fit into a desktop system you may need to spend an extra fiver on a 2.3 > 3.5inch adapter, Akasa do one that'll fit 2 2.5inch drives into a 3.5inch bay Smile

I have a Vertex 3 and its a machine. 6GBs interface but works backwards if your port is slower.

I bought this and it has been running great since September.

Very happy with it.

I bought an OCZ 120 GB ssd from ebuyer - only £114.

Works very fast even with my sata2 based mobo. A relatively cheap speed upgrade

I have run two OCZ Agility 3 240gb in raid 0 for just over six months so far with no problems.

Housemate is running six OCZ agility 3 60gb in raid 0 for about 7 months with no problem and other housemate is running 2 120 ones, so between us thats 10 agility 3 drives that we've had no problems with.

I have 8 of them for my new system and a raid card for much speediness. Mr. Green

Surely there's a limit to how fast you want your porn to load?

Make sure your Motherboard does SATA3 or buying a pimp drive won't give any benefits over an older style SSD. If you do only have SATA2 it would be worth hunting around for one or the older designs and buying a big one.

I was happy with my OCZ 120gb Vertex 2 for over a year until it died last week.

Ebuyer.com were doing Agility 3 SSDs 120gb for £100 last week

Word on the street is the intels are the ones to go for.

https://www.ebuyer.com/341654-intel-120gb-520-series-ssd-oem-ssdsc2cw120a310

Bit pricey, but I wish I had bought this instead of the Crucial M4 128gb.

Christ lol.

Anyway I have a 60 vortex one, no problems til recently it slowed right down. Use a normal disk HDD as storage so gave it a full format and its back to full speed. Had a little problem with the computer not seeing it but its fine now, suspect it was as much a problem with the mobo and lead as it was the drive, but not sure.

Do love them though, SO fast its unreal, I wan't more my storage drive just feels so slow now.
