Hi
Our lads Suzuki has just stopped on a busy dual carriage way and i have just been out to see if i can get it going the electric start has never worked but it useally kicks up after 1-2 attempts i checked the oil and other levels yesterday and they were fine.when we got to him he said it had just stopped so i tried to kick it up and the kickstart wont even go down.
Does this mean it has seized????

Rob

Probably - can you select 2nd or 3rd gear and push the bike forwards or backwards, or turn the back wheel by hand, with the clutch out?

If not, I would say that the engine has seized - probably by chewing up a piston ring - otherwise, if the engine can be turned over by pushing the bike in gear, you may just have a jammed kick start mechanism on top of a separate problem that caused the engine to die.

When it stopped were there any noises, like the drive belt snapping? As the belt could have wrapped itself round the variator stopping the engine turning over. Take the transmission cover off and have a look.
