FYI just heard on the radio a government body is recommending training to pizza delivery ped riders Shocked Appears these people are usually L plate riders (no, never Rolling Eyes ). I think they recommended advanced training for all riders.

Found some info on MCN but it's not specific on this topic - MCN info link click here

If anyone wants to see the government report (nice bedtime reading Confused ) then click here

Further to Map's original posting the Final Report can be read here https://www.dft.gov.uk/stellent/groups/dft_rdsafety/documents/page/dft_rdsafety_030137.pdf.

That's if you have a spare couple of hours! It seems reasonably comprehensive and raises a number of concerns that motorcyclists have. There are also some interesting statistics buried in there which are disconcerting. Interestingly I didn't see anything about diesel spills.

Just looking through the final report.
It appears you have an accident on the road because you're on the wrong type of bike!
Quote:
from Section 61
An emphasis on the promotion of sportsbikes can attract the wrong sort of rider to
be conducive to road safety. The Advisory Group considers that manufacturers and
dealers should lead by market engineering to encourage the use of a range of more
practical all-rounder motorcycles like Fazers, Bandits, Sprints and VFR 800s. These
machines still have an impressive performance capability but are better suited to
everyday use.
