Has anyone else noticed a drastic reduction in the amount of units they're consuming since the days began getting longer and the air temperature a bit more bollock-friendly? I've been avoiding the pub and casual drinks with the missus over dinner so that I'm able to head out for a burn.

According to my liver, Bikes >> beer Laughing

I very rarely touch beer when I`m out on the bike (my choice) so in that respect, yes bikes are good for you Thumbs Up Smile

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that Bomberman. I hope you're OK. I guess both bikes and alcohol have their roles!

So really, you could say, bikes drive you both away and towards alcohol. H-hey!!

do u know what, i quit drinking jan 1 this year after a stupendious night out and atrocious hangover, mainly because i knew it would win the ex back,

dont have a drink problem just a case im a fucktard when drunk dnt give a shit always end up doing somthing stupid, then wasting the next day feeling crap.

had to give it up completly because unfortunatly i cant just have one, one tuns into 2 3 4 5 6 7. . . .
then instead of going home i go out spend more money have rows ect ect.

but 2 b honest i dont miss it, i have more money to do more with the missus, dont waste my weekends and feel more fresh all round.

plus she still drinks and after a night out comes back to rape me Very Happy

people should try it give it up for a month or 2 see how you feel Thumbs Up

I've drastically cut down my drinking as I can't bear hangovers anymore and to be honest I find it a massive waste of money these days. I went to my local pub a week or two back and drove home (I'd normally have 5 or 6 pints and walk home) it was then I realised how much I actually disliked the place. As sad as it seems I'd rather sit in the house and get a head start on my coursework or not drink at all on a Friday night and head out Saturday morning on the mountain bike.

I completely agree that now the weather is starting to get a bit better I'm even less inclined to go out and piss my money up against a wall and would much prefer to spend it on petrol and go for a hoon.

I've drastically cut my drinking at home, usually tend to drive on nights out, as the night life in my town's crap. So have a pint then switch to softies.

I feel the need to get trollied in town as I do it so rarely though. The last time I was drunk in public was probably August last year for my birthday.

I couldn't agree more with regard to the wasted weekends and pissing money, almost literally. I'm in the last few months of what's been a very demanding uni course and I spend all week every week busting myself, always looking forward to the weekend to get a bit of a break...then before you know what's happened it's Monday, that annoying device on the bed-side table is beeping and the entire weekend is a distant blur of inebriation, regretful stupidity, nausea and headaches.

As above, I ain't got no drink problem, I just go out and drink because it's what my mates do come Friday/Saturday night. Last weekend I stayed in with my girlfriend both nights, had a nice dinner, a glass of wine, did a bit of course work and got an early-ish night before getting up and burning through 15 quids' worth of petrol on the 'motard around Scotland with a couple of friends. We stopped for lunch in Dunkeld (gorgeous), got home, I showered and was ready to go. All before I'd normally have managed up. It was fucking brilliant Thumbs Up

100% this.

I went mountain biking the week before last I was out and back before I'd normally get out of bed. The night before that I went out, had a lemonade, decided the usual crowd down the pub were an utter waste of time (my friends not included in that, all have careers, degrees and are thoroughly nice chaps) and listening to the same shite on the jukebox irritated me beyond belief. Since then I've been down once and that was a little ten minute flying visit. I was asked to go into town after the Rugby but I couldn't be arsed and decided it would be better waking up wide eyed and bushy tailed ready to attack some coursework and do some exercise. Maybe I'm just growing up. Laughing
