Caberg Konda - Removing the sun visor...

So I just spent the last hour trying to detatch the internal sun visor from my Caberg Konda helmet after loosing the instruction booklet... What a challenge. I have never used the sun visor on this helmet so I thought I would take it out, give it a good clean and see if its actually useable (when I first got the helmet, the sun visor seemed really cloudy and dull).

After about 45 minutes of ripping my helmet apart, I finally managed to prize the sun visor out with the help of an old thread on here about a similar Caberg helmet. Tricky stuff.

The sun visor looks a lot better now so I look forward to using it on the road.

Have any of you had similar problems with other helmets? It seems a very good idea but the design could be better on this one.

Mine works fine now! Just taken my bike for a spin round the block in the sun and the sun visor is doing its job now. I can actually see through it! Lovely!

Still need a new lid soon Kinda renders this thread useless...

Have you ever bought any other helmets from this company? I'm looking at a new helmet from the tinterweb for about £120 and it has a sun visor that's retractable from the top. I like it and I want it! Just wondered if they are a good brand?

I've had two cabergs with the sun visor, I like them generally although I find the padding compresses a fair bit after a year or so compared to the other lids I've owned. HJC do a similar system and the one I had was very comfortable until I used it to bring myself to an abrupt halt on tarmac. Both the HJC and the Caberg are fairly noisy at motorway speeds but I am mainly commuting so this doesn't worry me, if I'm going on the motorway I use earplugs. I'm currently sporting the tarty V2x Carbon for extra wankerness
I find the sun visor to be an often used accessory as I am nowhere near organised to carry round shades without breaking/losing them etc and would now be reluctant to buy a helmet without one.

Edit: make sure you try one on before you buy over the net, plus the Caberg matt black finish scuffs very easily and looks shit very quickly if like me you don't meticulously care for your possessions.

I have a Caberg V2RR which has a sun visor. It's a good bit of kit, like others have said it saves having to carry sunglasses and even then I'm constantly flipping it up and down.
It's a piece of cake to remove, clean and replace. The lever is on the side of the helmet which I love, I can only imagine the levers on top to be a pain to use at anything above town speeds.
The noise is annoying at high speeds and I'm glad to hear others find issues with the padding. If I hadn't only had it for 6 months I think I'd be buying another helmet, at times it doesn't feel particularly snug...

Sounds like a lot of people are having the same trouble with the padding. I generally wear a balaclava underneath my helmet anyway, that pads it out nicely... bit of a pain in the ass in this weather though.

I think you can order a replacement liner from somewhere - I swear I remember seeing a page of Caberg Helmet Spares on a webiste. If I find it, i'll post it up for you guys.

I have a Caberg V2R at the moment. It is a little noisy at motorway speeds, but its a great fit on my bonce and the padding is fine, although i have only had it for 6 months.
The internal sun visor is very effective. Its easy to use with gloved hands and there is still room for my specs underneath. I would definitely recommend this lid for the price
