See, this is why I don't buy new bikes.......that and I can't afford them. Laughing

Lucky Yamaha mechanics get to ride all the new R1's. Laughing

hahaha,

Getting a new bike is kinda good, in the sense that you can become accustomed to the bike's characteristics if your upgrading, when running it in.

I'm surprised that engine hasn't been tested on a dyno or bench tested before they installed it.... Confused

Looks like Yamaha has a problem within their production line(s).

My reckoning is it was made on a friday evening when everyone's just looking forward to the weekend, in abit of a rush and don't care if just one isn't put together quite right.

Well, thats made my decision. If I was going to buy a japanese 2004 litre bike, its the blade all the way! Very Happy

Maybe I'll go for one of those quirky european makes...

Triumph Maybe?

Just goes to show you can have too much power! Smile

Hi

Wonder how the lubrication system works on the R1? That is the 2 outer big end bearings. Wonder if they do something like have the oil feed for the crank on the centre main bearing, in which case any kind of oil failure (faulty pump, lack of oil, faulty pressure release valve) would take out the outer 2 big ends first.

All the best

Keith
