Clicky for savey.

It seems to be genuine, I tried a quote without it and got the same number (before the discount). It brought my quote down to within £10 of the lowest comparison site quote, and eBike don't mug you for admin fees on mid term adjustments, so I think that's a winner.

Apparently just me then Embarassed

I know their prices went up a lot last year (thus I switched away from them), but (with £40 off) they're currently just about competitive for my stable of comedy bikes. The clincher is that I'm planning to make at least 4 changes this year, which would cost £100+ just in admin charges with anyone else, plus the hassle of having some phone mong mis-type everything three times.

Bollocks Crying or Very sad does it apply to renewals as well I wonder, I was with them until a few days ago but swopped as I could get it £30 cheaper, that would have saved another tenner.

Probably not, I got offered it because I switched away a year ago, so it's a lure-'em-back offer (but seems bizarrely to be shareable).

Anyway, you should always put a renewal through as a new quote so as not to get hit with the standard loyalty punishment - I think insurers pronounce it as "introductory discount" though. Wink

Just moved to E-bike...

Now highly pissed off with them as I have recieved a letter asking for copies of front/back of photocard and counterpart....
They state they need this for ALL new customers..

Even though I ticked the box allowing them permission to contact DVLA to confirm details...

Well they are now getting a letter of complaint Twisted Evil

Isn't this the insurance company that differentiates between full and restricted licences, and recently someone got fucked because he put 3 years when his restriction had only been off for a year?

Errm I'm pretty sure that's standard for every insurance company..
DVLA wont provide them photocopies of your drivers license and counterpart

Just do it and stop being a lazy arse, photocopying some docs is better than sending off the originals Shocked

Which reminds me, a post man told me it was illegal to have the wrong address on my provisional when i went to pick up a parcel, what bullshit! Do people just make up their own laws to sound like smart-asses? Rolling Eyes

Any-one got £80 they can lend me until the end of the month!

I didn't have to do it for mine.

They would contact the DVLA to verify, not to get a photocopy.

If he was being a lazy arse then he wouldn't write the letter of complaint, would he?

Photocopying is better than sending the originals, yes, but that's not the point of his post. The point is that he shouldn't need to but they're still making him.

All the time - I refer you back to the DVLA.

Well my insurance made me, and if you don't like what the insurance policy says...go to a different insurer

If they said you didn't require them at first, then suddenly decided they did, then yeah, you have a right to complain, but as it stands, you didn't read the fine print, seemingly Thumbs Up

And sending off some photocopies really isnt much effort for a lower premium Rolling Eyes

Yup, they want to see license copies, although they don't exactly shout about it up front. I made sure I could find mine before buying, but haven't been asked yet, perhaps because they still have them on record from a couple of years back. I believe you can just email them scans or good quality photographs.

Yes, but on reflection, I actually view that as a positive. Most other insurers don't make a distinction and so could potentially screw you later when they change their minds. eBike asks the right questions up front, although they really should have a note that they use the DVLA definitions of entitlement duration.

They're also sensible about modifications, with a big list to choose from, and a small policy loading rather than going "ZOMFG you have panniers that'll be 50 hojillion pounds!" - again though, that's for my quotes.

It's not for everyone, but I particularly like the DIY aspect of modifying your own policy online, that's the big sell for me.

Well it's the 1st time in 32 years of insuring bikes and cars.... I have ever had to do it Shocked

You think I'm stupid enough to send originals Laughing Not even going in the post....
Sent them nice low res b/w scans... That they will be lucky to read Laughing

Gave them a bit of advice. As they say they are a internet based co to save money.... WTF do they send this request in the post Rolling Eyes Instead of email and then let us have the facility to upload scans via your user area.

Post man was correct... You are supposed to advise DVLA of change address straight away.
Note. may not be illegal in that you get bent over for it, but you should keep them upto date.
Remember you are using it as proof of ID... He could just of easily have said.. Sorry wrong address, so no parcel Laughing
