contacted seller they'll put 12 months mot on it if i pay full asking price and they'll offer me 900 for my current bike honda xr 125 55 reg. and the insurance premium will be nbo different?

think its worth going to have a look at?

I don't know where you get the fact that your insurance premium will be no different, do you know that for sure and if so how? Have you done quotes with all the comparison sites on both your current motorcycle and that GPZ500? I'd imagine the quote would be noticeably higher.

I assume you've passed your test? If so and it's 33bhp, restriction?

If he is offering you £900 for your current bike, you will only be paying him £95, yes?

The engine change seems odd to me, especially as the advertisement says that there is no history to document the change? .

Make sure the history is good and proves what he has said, the carb cleaning and adjustment, the exhaust is okay, check the downpipes are in good condition, check the suspension is fine, make sure the bike runs and revs well through the rev range whilst on a small test ride and if not, at a standstill both cold AND when warmed up. Check he has the correct amount of keys.

If you are serious, make sure to get it HPI checked yourself. For the sake of a few quid it's not worth finding out they've faked a certificate.

Lastly, when you get there to view it (if you do go) and this is true of pretty much all motorcycles I think, the VERY FIRST THING you must do is go over to it and put your hand on the exhaust endcan, if it is cold, try and tap the engine and downpipes with your hand to check if they are either hot, warm or cold.

The reason for this is that if the engine struggles to start when cold, sellers will often start the bike and get it up to a decent temperature so that when you arrive it starts on the button. Every time I've looked at a bike and the engine/exhaust has been warm when I've turnt up I've just walked away, not worth risking that it's the seller masking a problem.

Anyway, keep an eye out for other bikes if this one doesn't work out for you, make sure you are happy with the price he gives you for your existing bike if you do go for this one.
