What are the options for distance buying? Apart from the obvious trust you're going to have to have that the thing is as described!

I've heard people get the seller to scribble anything in the signature bit of the V5c and send it off? Is there a proper way of doing it?
Am I right in saying it's the sellers responsibility to post it to DVLA, and the buyer just gets the tear off strip until the new V5c comes through?

I don't recommend this, It might be daunting at first when purchasing a vehicle of someone but its just a quick process. Anyway, I would rather see it in person before I hand the money over so your best option is to find a bike you want locally or hire a van.

I sent off for my V5 with a V62 or something the guy I bought it off sent me, He was gonna send off for it himself, but we figured I might aswell do it instead of having to do it twice and both being charged

Although...looking back it could have gone badly Laughing

Would need pics at a bare minimum buyign any bike though, else its all words! Paper trail! Paper trail!!!

Where is the bike located? Someone off the forum may be close (and nice) enough to go and inspect it for you.

Not any bike in particular, but for example there's one right in central London and some up Birmingham way. Basically if I can search the whole of England and then account for £100 transport I'm more likely to find a good deal.
Agree I'd rather find one local, but another factor is I'm on the south coast so any around here are already rusty.
