Mmmmm Quicker than I thought

Had to nip up to cambridge today for work so thought great good excuse for giving the divvy a run, anyway I've never really wound it right up as the bulk of my riding is commuting to work, so upon joining the motorway I thought lets see how she hitches her skirt and gets a move on, I was quite surprised in all honesty, no slouch at all for an 18 year old, not as quick as the tt600 I test rode last week end but certainly quick enough to put a smile on my face.

I've yet to ride a bike that i've not had to the throttle stop and redline within a few miles of getting on. Granted i've yet to ride anything truely mental, but i thought giving it the beans was the point of a test ride?

lol..., oh I did give it some beans when I first got it but I was being a bit mechanicly sympathetic so never red lined it today I did and was quite impressed with how far you can push each gear on what is an old work horse.

I'm like that too, commuting dependency sometimes forces me to play it safe even when out for a hoon with mates.

The MZ has a rev limiter fitted in the CDI to stop conrod making a sudden exit via the crank case, only hit that limiter last Sunday coming back from camping chasing a mate on a GPZ 500 and owned the bike since last Oct.

In fact did the same on my Bandit only ever took it up to 105 with plenty more revs to spare, never really had the inclination (ahem Balls ) to fully open it up.

The CBR won't get the same luxury though

I can't say I've pushed my bike to the limit...yet.

The main problem I have is that as soon as you're on the redline, you really should be slowing down. Well that's true for my bike anyway.

I've had most of my bikes flat out in top. There's a bit of motorway near by that has a nice down hill section to get you a good run up and it's completely straight and empty at 2am
This is why i exercise my self control when it comes to bike purchase
