The test itself is relatively inexpensive, about £50 I think.
I used these people when I took the test about 7 years ago I think:

At a guess I would say for training and test you'd be looking at £500 ish for the A1/A2 license, perhaps it'd be better to wait until 21 though and do direct access as if you do the A2 you'll either have to spend 2 years on 33hp or redo the test at 21.

I suppose it depends on how eager you are to get off your 125!

Its basically a few days intensive training followed by the test.

The GPZ500 twin is a good bike and I had several, probably a good step up from your 125. I've never heard of a GPZ450 though, I don't think they were ever brought to this country.

CBT - £100
Theory - £31
Mod 1- £15.50
Mod 2 - £75

Ideally thats all you need if you take it with a 125.

OK, you have two options:

Arrow Do the tests now on a 'standard' (125cc) motorcycle, and get an A license limited to 25kW for 2 years.
Arrow Wait until you turn 21 and do the tests on a 'large' (500cc+) bike (aka a DAS test). Get an unrestricted A license.

That second option applies up until January 19th 2013, after which it's all change.

Theory is about 45 minutes, module 1 offroad is about 20 minutes, module 2 on road is about an hour.

If you're asking how long it takes to reach test standard, that's entirely up to you.

Test costs are listed above, you can book all of the tests yourself online at direct.gov.uk.
