One of my mates is a mechanic for a rally team (can't remember the name). He had the car it his garage for some last minute tuning a service, before going out the next day.
Took me out for a blast round the local roads. The sound of it was imense, then he turned on the (not quite sure) which is used to keep the turbo spooling on the run down. My god the bloody thing went mental. Never got out a car with such a grin.

yea course he did shame it is NA and has no turbo as it has an ex world touring car motor in it (nissan I believe)
he is our local spud farmer lol

My mate is a mechanic for Mercedes, and the rally team is just a hobby/cash on the side sort of thing.
Incidently found a picture of the car:

Which Mercedes garage does your mate work for, I can ring them I don't mind, even though your mate has gone from, as far as I can tell, running a garage to it now being a hobby, and I fail to see why anyone would take their car to a hobbyist mechanic.

um maby i missed somthing along the line but me do beleive that if thats a cosworth jobby it would have the m16 engiine in it which is a 1.9 gti lump bored out to a 2.0 then fitted with a garrett turbo for good measure  as found in the 205 and the 309? 209? same front end as a 205 but no hatchback. also the same engine in the citroen turbo thingy

It's a home build, it started out with a metro 6r4 engine then an opel touring car engine and is currently running a 2.9 cosworth v6.
