Ok if you have read my post in the general chat forum, I have decided to sell my NSR. I have had it for 8 months and basically have replaced most of it in that time. I has 2500 mile on the new barrel and piston, a replaced rear shock (just ask McJamweasel), new fork seals, new radiator, new indicators, recently replaced front tyre, recently resprayed and new graphics put on. If I think of anything else I'll edit the post. BUT I have just confirmed that the main bearings have gone and the parts needed to totally repair her are on their way and are also included in the price. I'm gonna start stripping her down but if people show interest I'll put it back together and leave as it is. This is for the bike AS IS! If I go ahead and fix her myself and still sell, I'll charge more because I'll probably go and finish the other little jobs I was planning to do. If you want a picture I have posted them on other topics of mine (I can't post it now because I have miss-placed the file)! GSXR 400 here I come... I hope!

Anyway I am wanting £650 ono, basically it has cost me £750 in parts over the last 8 months, on top of the original cost of the bike.

So its a 1990 NSR with a screwed bottom end? I'll give you 300 quid for it.

If you were a bit closer I would come and have a look at it and mabey take some spares, if you decide to strip it I need;

Front mudguard
Seat
Shock linkages (depending on what type they are)
Shock absorber (again depending if it's the right one)
Clutch cable

Need some other bits as well but I will have to find out if they will fit first.

EDIT: Oh an exhaust would be handy as well Smile

Always count on Robby to rip the price. Well the bottom end is half screwed now as I have just dropped the engine from the bike, well nearly, all of the bolts are undone, barrel off, carb off, all hoses and cables off also, so ready to get to the hard part. As for spares, if the rebuild goes horribly wrong (which I pray it dosen't) I won't really be breaking, but see McJamweasel, he has loads of parts for the RK kicking about.

Well for £650 you can get a fully working RK, so who would want to pay that for one with a broken bottom end? bottom end failures are nasty things to fix, and can often take the top end with them.

And you spending 700 quid on parts on it doesn't raise the value one iota. Its means you bought a lemon.

Well now that I have calmed down with the bloody thing I will probibly fix it (hopefully) then finish it to flog on, but then you will only probibly say it's worth £100. So I can't win with you really... As for the top end, the barrel is fine, not a mark on it. I checked this straight away because I didn't want the £350 fix I did last time to be f***ed again. So I was lucky. And the parts were from Honda, because I hadn't found this site back then, so couldn't save any cash, just before you say anything! As for the bottom end Jam, lets see if the repairs work first Rolling Eyes

Well since doing the bottom end is new to me, I left it ready to pull out last night and when I got up this morning... a lovely pool of 2 stroke oil all over the floor! The crank-case is full to the brim with the stuff! Only filled the reservoiur up on sunday so when I disconnected the pump, I put one tube into the other to stop the pipes dripping and basically created a direct flow into the engine Embarassed Well at least it won't rust Very Happy Oh... This is going good Confused Really think it's time for it to go after I finish, can't be bothered to run it in again, hated it last time.

Hi
Will be intrested if you get it fixed, but i wouldnt pay anymore than £650 with it being fixed. Usually when an NSR breaks it will break again and again and agin, plus its 14 years old. £650 a good price for something like your offerenig, oh pics would be good 2 Thumbs Up .

To be honest with ya luck, I don't think there is much more to fix after this! Well the bearings and the barrel/piston have been replaced anyway, major parts, also had new fork seals, again a common breakage. The carb was fine last time I checked (touch wood), so if I ain't going to jix it, it should be fine for a while longer. Keep you posted on my progress anyway, pics as soon as I can find them! Very Happy

Ok I have been away but I'm back with good news! It works (touch wood). I gave up on pulling the botom end apart and started to ask around for quotes on repairal, and someone had a complete engine, only done 9,000km so I had to have it. Anyway after a week of waiting to get a flywheel puller I got it all up and running today (not after servicing the carbs though, knew I'd jinx it)! And it is f***ing quick, totally different, red-lines easy so I have to be careful! Bear in mind I'm 18 stone, so it must be a good motor. Still gonna sell, but not decided on the price yet (engine cost a bit). Anyone still interested though???

I had to put the link because I can't post a new pic for some reason!

By the way, I never did get round to changing anything since this pic, so it's all the same now as then! May do the seat before I sell though. Very Happy
